California in January

California, I wish I could tie a string around your waist and pull you behind the plane.  Just a little closer to your sunshine, my wonderful family, your vast coastline, and, of course Lily's Chinese food on Hopkins street.

For Christmas Tyler gave me the most fantastic gift;  a ticket to fly down to Berkeley, to surprise my dad on his birthday.  What a gift!  I felt like a lizard on a clear afternoon-- pointing my nose to the sun; soaking in enough family and vitamin D to get me through the rest of winter.

Ice Plants in bloom; invasive species, but so beautiful I almost forgive them.

My dad in his man-hat.

Eucalyptus trees; also invasive; also beautiful

Tilden park, I love you.
